In a world where it seems that people are becoming increasingly colder by the minute, it is a wonderful thing to hear about those who are doing their best to better the lives of others. The Central African Republic is one such place that needs a lot of help, due to heavy violence and extreme poverty. It is estimated that it is one of the countries with the direst need for assistance and aid in the world.
Following are three organizations that show us that we can make a difference if we try, no matter our religion, preferences, or backgrounds:
- Islamic Relief: Islamic Relief is making a difference for people of the Central African Republic and has been working towards helping those less fortunate for more than 25 years. They help to provide food aid, basic essential kits that include mattresses, bedding, clothes and more, and they also are highly active in providing psychosocial support for displaced children, as well as education.
- Action Against Hunger: As their name implies, Action Against Hunger is extremely active in providing people in the Central African Republic with lifesaving nutrition and food, as well as sanitation facilities, and clean water. With such a large majority of the country’s health providers shut down, the need for proper nutrition and health care is high and Action Against Hunger is doing what they can to help the people of this country, and more specifically, the children to receive the attention they so desperately need.
- Save the Children: While it may be a name that you have heard of, if there was ever a country that needed their services, it would be the Central African Republic. With the raging violence that seems never-ending and a large number of displaced children, children are the most affected from the country’s political disarray.
Save the Children is active in seeking help for the children in the Central African Republic and they are active in their pursuit of saving children from danger, supporting them in difficulties, and providing them with healthcare, as well as much-needed nutrition.
If everyone did something to help, people in some of the world’s poorest countries would know a different and better life. While these organizations are doing what they can to provide healthcare, nutrition, psychological attention, and protection, there is always room for more people who care about helping the people of Central African Republic.
